Anatomy of a Hockey Fight

My side hobby is Hockey, and the sub hobby of that hobby is watching and critiquing...is that right? anyways hockey fights from the nhl. This first video doesn't fall under the critiques of most fights but this caught my interest because T.J. Oshie is my favorite player, probably of all time no matter how many points he gets, how many games he plays, or what team he plays for hopefully he will be a Blue forever but that's here nor there anyway im rambling first up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZrsMe-t3cU

tj oshie vs ryan wilson-Oshie's first mistake was trying to grab Wilson's shirt with his gloves. This gives Wilson perfect opportunity to make the first move in which he did. Oshie was great because he fought someone bigger than him. Ryan Wilson is probably the only person to really hammer Oshie i.e. a few games back where he annihilated him. Oshie's other mistake is fighting with a visor on; which a no no in the NHL today. if you're going to fight either don't have a visor or take the helmet off. Oshie got some haymakers in there but it did nothing to stun or knock over the gigantic Wilson. I kind of hope this is Oshie's only fight because he's a class act player and doesn't respond to chirping, cheapshotting, or retaliations against him and i think he should keep it that way.

jesse boulerice vs aaron downey- The mistake here is that Boulerice didn't try and grab the jersey, he tried to knockout Downey and missed. This is sort of a bowing out of the great scrums before the NHL lockout where every team had a "goon"to enforce the ice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llWnBfoRfwQ

Gary Roberts vs Ben Eager- The lesson learned from this fight is never ever ever ever fight a guy who played in the 90's. The 90's most fights were "punch a thons" where there was no "turtle-ing" no blocks just a minute or two of just punching each others faces until someone gave up.

and

The lesson here is "Pest's Get Squashed" Derek Dorsett and Jordin Tootoo are what i call "wannabees" because they cant fight and they cant play professional hockey but yet they are on Nhl teams. Derek Dorsett has neither the size nor the skill to be an nhl player or fighter. i have yet to see a fight in which he wins. Jordin Tootoo is a cheapshotting, annoying pest who i will concede gets points but with that mangled face and drinking problem isn't swaying my vote on him.

The Showman Tony Twist really turned the enforcer into a commodity in the NHL he embraced his role and flaunted it with many bouts with Rob Ray, Bob Probert (RIP) and the like.

Gotta get my Net-Fix.

hello there people that may or may not be reading this. i want to talk about netflix. i have had this application for some months now and i have not used it to its full potential. i am in love with the online streaming via Xbox live. i don't care much for getting dvds mailed to me and i hope in the future every movie ever can be streamed online ( if this exists please tell me). my only disapointment is that alot of movies i like to watch over and over and over and over again aren't included like Spies Like Us, Fanboys, Predator, etc. etc. i also like how they update the tv shows when a new episode comes on like the new Spartacus Gods of the Arena episodes.

i am sitting here sweating, and rapid eye movementing around the room because i need my netfix. i am currently "on and offing" JFK, which is a joke facts wise even though i believe there to be a conspiracy but the movie's acting does give merit. i was happy to find out that OSS 117 can be streamed, if you have not seen this movie its like a french version of Austin Powers. I never thought foreign movies could make me laugh until now. There was also an Indian movie i want to see, it has the guy who was the host on the Indian Who Wants To Be a Millionaire in Slumdog Millionaire.

Game of the Week- The Armored Core Series.

What a ground breaking series known as Armored Core. The revolutionary customization packages and game play made the Armored Core series one of the best games from the ps1-ps2 era. The game reminds me of Gran Turismo but instead of a car you're building a heavily armed robot that you fight other robots for money and fame.

Greatest Opponent- Jack Brockus SHOWTIME baby
Strangest Design- Firestorm-all red and orange with left hand flame thrower, napalm arm rockets, and fire rockets.

The WEEKLY Top Five Chinpokomon.

i recently picked up Pokemon Yellow again.

my goals are simple but yet complex at the same time.
i want to play the game and not end up with a fucking Gengar or an Alakazam or a Legendary Bird for god sake. all i want is some barebones lineup that will get the job done. i dont care for anything thats more than 151 pokemon so all that other shit can just go to hell.

TOP 5

1- Hypno

2-Cloister

3-Vileplume

4-RADICATEEEEE

5-Dugtrio

Not too long ago some friends and I busted out the old time game consoles namely n64, snes, and nes. If youre a fucking idiot those stand for nintendo 64, super nintendo entertainment system, and nintendo entertainment system. Those buffoons were wasting their time with donkey kong and mario kart 64. I showed up with my cache of great video games, not to mention there was no fucking Mega Man to be seen. I whipped out the greats.

Mario All Star (snes)-basically to play what Mario Lost Levels which was supposed to be the true Mario 2.

"fuck the physics of Mario All Star i cant play that shit."-J-sal.

When you actually think hard about boardgames.....

You ever think of the darker aspects of boardgames? Look a little deeper and they seem to be morbid and ghastly.

Mouse Trap
A whole game planning the horrific murder of mice. I don't know why people can't just pick up a mouse and put it outside? If you don't want mice that's why you have a cat, or keep your child chained to a pole in the basement.

Risk
Today's world is filled with pointless bloodshed and depression. Why not channel that into a boardgame. What is more fun than the waste of millions of lives of red coat-blue coat-green coat men, horses, and cannons.
go fuck yourself alexander the great.

Titanic the Boardgame

How the fuck do you win this game??????

Monday Book Club

My compulsive behavior makes me want to read many books one page at a time for long periods of time. This is how I read, unless I really get into a book :)))))))))))) like Bukowski.

First off though, go to youtube and play this while reading.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sayGb0MMS_k&feature=related

Book Club Monday delves deep into the books I've read over some time.

Mason and Dixon ( Thomas Pynchon )- Ive had to put this book down for a bit because of other things but from the first chapter Ive liked what Ive seen. Sort of a "gonzo" re-imagining of Mason and Dixon, the surveyors who were responsible for the surveying of the borders of early North America.

Geneology of Morals (Nietzsche)-Nietzsche's various essays. Alot of boring blah blah blah. I know what he has to say is important but now i know why its an SIUE textbook.

Man in the High Castle (Philip K. Dick)-Dick's Hugo Award winning masterpiece is a good read. Not as in your face as VALIS, but the idea of an occupied America by Japan and Germany great. The last surviving Jews live under aliases and have had plastic surgery to not appear jewish. This book reminds me of the paranoia, violence, and god-like power of technology of this age. The Mediterranean Sea is drained for farmland and Africa is a nuclear wasteland.

Book Club Monday reminds me of how it amazes me how some people cannot spell. (forgive me for my spelling this is a rather informal medium).
This guy i work with has twice amazed me with words he cannot spell along with customers.

Dairy guy-dude how do you spell juice? Jewse? right
Dairy guy-dude how do you spell minute? Minet?

customer-hey man can you read this and tell me what it is?
me-yeah thats crouton.
customer-oh man thanks can you tell me where that is?
customers girlfriend-baby did he help you out with that word?

And have a great day.

The WEEKLY Top Five

The first post of the week will be the Top Five. This week is the top five movies I almost got sucked into, but bailed at the last minute.

5-Patton-This little gem starring George C. Scott is always on like clockwork when I stop by my parents after work to steal food. My dad seems to watch this movie everyday, I dont know why. Dad is always passed out when its on and I'm usually walking in on the same scene over and over again. Come on dad find another movie.

4-Stripes-This movie isn't bad but it's a movie you need to be in the mood to watch. The mud wrestling scene is funny but sad at the same time because John Candy looks like Vincent Donofrio in Full Metal Jacket sans soap beating. The only funny part of that movie is the end with the magazines where they interview Harold Ramis and it reads "He says the Reds are pussies".

3-The Ugly Truth- This Gerard Butler epic fail seemed to make me laugh every time Gerard Butler spoke. The more I delved in the more I knew this movie was too good to be true so I bailed.

2-Jaws-This movie was a favorite of mine years ago. I'm burned out, I'm tired, I'm done with Jaws. I never realized how damn long that movie was and alot of it was filled with sharks not eating people. Maybe I'll watch Jaws 2.

DRUM ROLLSSSSSSS

1-The Fast and the Furious-I was really tired today and this stick spore was on tv. I was paralized, i couldnt look away. I froze, like a tsunami wave (too soon?) coming right at me. Luckily my brother called and I bailed and went and played hockey.

The End.
